"Not all angels have wings...some ride motorcycles." ~ Course Director
What is Two Wheel Trauma
Two Wheel Trauma is a series of training courses that trains both riders and bystanders in various forms of first aid before EMS arrives. These courses for riders and anybody who is interested in saving another person's life. Simply put, we want to enhance the survival rate for the injured riders of Bicycles, Motorcycles, ATV’s, Mopeds, Snowmobiles and other vehicles of similar design and to reduce the potential injury to the rescuer.
The Courses
Motorcyclists: Dives right into traumatic injury since motorcyclists are on all forms of roadways with other vehicles. Course covers topics such as stopping blood loss, helmet removal, jaw thrust, rescue breathing, advanced injury types, stabilization techniques and more.
Bicyclists: Starts off with urban trailways or parks in mind where medical related issues may arise more so than traumatic injury. However, there are various levels suited for other types of bicycling such as off road, rural roadways with a cycling club, or urban street riding. In these instances, traumatic injury pertaining to bicycle related incidents are covered.
Electric Motorbikes: This includes e-bikes and hybrids. The course blends off-road/rural roadways bicycle trauma training, along with highly specialized handling of these vehicles in a post accident situation. Unlike conventional gas powered vehicles or regular bicycles, these vehicles come with additional dangers and hazards to a patient and rescuer.
